Scientific name: Puma concolor capricornensis

On June 17, 2015, The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service removed the eastern puma from their endangered species list, declaring that the species is now extinct. According to the Center for Biological Diversity, “The eastern cougar was extinct well before it was protected under the Endangered Species Act.
