Scientific name: Acinonyx jubatus raineyii
The Tanzanian cheetah, also commonly known as East African cheetah or Kenyan cheetah, is a subspecies of cheetah found on the eastern part of Africa. They live in Tanzania, Uganda, Kenya and Somalia.
These cheetahs are close to being classified as endangered, with the total number estimated at 2,572 adults and independent adolescents. Tanzanian cheetahs are the second-largest population after the most numerous South African cheetah.
